Northwest Auto is run with great integrity. They stood by the initial quote they gave me even though it required more parts, labor, and time to fix my car. I brought my car in because it was misfiring and had low compression. Initially I was told I needed new valves. I agreed to replacing the valves—but once they were replaced, the problem was only partially alleviated. They then told me the piston rings needed to be replaced and I gave the go ahead for that as well. (Thank you for asking me for the go-ahead whenever further actions needed to be taken!) Unfortunately, that wasn't the root cause either—it turned out that it was the computer unit in the distributor that had gone bad. The distributor was replaced and the car started, with full compression on all cylinders. After all that, with work put in after hours and on weekends to try to finish on time, I went in expecting the bill to be sky-high. Instead, I found that this shop is run with extraordinary integrity. The cause was so obscure that it would have been very hard to identify at the beginning, but they stood by their original quote nonetheless. This meant that they didn’t charge me for all the work they did. I've never before encountered a shop that didn't charge for all work performed regardless of what they said initially. Best of all, the work they did was good (still holding up three quarters of a year later). Everyone there treated me with respect and honesty, and I highly recommend Northwest to anyone who needs anything done. Note: Honda owners (especially owners of older Hondas) I would recommend if you need work done in the valley that you go to Northwest instead of the Honda dealer. I had some very bad experiences with the shop at the dealer and will never return there.
